About Us

Career educators. One obsession: every child reading.

The Center for Student Achievement Solutions is a K–12 literacy consulting firm built by educators who have worked at every level of the system: classroom, principal’s office, district cabinet, and state agency. We bring science of reading expertise, structured literacy coaching, and job-embedded professional development into real classrooms, and we measure ourselves by one thing only: student benchmark data.

Why We Exist

Literacy is equity. Reading is power. And neither one happens by accident.

Transformational teaching happens through expert coaching, sustained support, and aligned systems that work. That is why we exist: to stand beside teachers and school leaders until evidence-based reading instruction is not an initiative in your district, but a habit.

Who We Are

Whatever seat you sit in, we have sat in it too.

We are strengths-based, collaborative career educators who have worked at every level of K–12 education. Select your seat and see why that matters to your partnership.

We know Friday afternoon in room 214.

Our consultants have stood where your teachers stand: the small group that will not gel, the pacing calendar that will not wait, the student whose eyes say the strategy from last month's PD is not working. That is why our coaching happens inside your classrooms, during real lessons, with real students. We would never coach from the back of a library, because nobody ever coached us that way when we needed it.

What it means for youCoaching your teachers trust from day one, because it comes from people who have taught.

Whole-School Partnership

We support every level of the building at once.

Reading outcomes change when leaders, teachers, and students improve together. That is why every CSAS partnership works all three levels simultaneously, with the same consultant connecting them.

Our Founder

Dr. Chandra Williams built the partner she could never hire.

Over more than two decades in public education, Dr. Williams worked at every level of the system and became known as an expert at turning around low-performing districts and schools to close achievement gaps for students across the country.

After two-plus decades working at every level of the education system, she has learned what works, and what does not, when it comes to teacher retention, student achievement, and school improvement. CSAS is that knowledge, turned into a firm.

She founded the Center for Student Achievement Solutions on a conviction most vendors avoid saying out loud: schools do not need another program. They need experienced educators standing beside their teachers and leaders until the evidence-based practice holds on its own.

The Journey

Every stop taught something your district now benefits from. Select each one.

Leading schools inside the nation’s largest school system, she learned the lesson CSAS is built on: improvement lives or dies in the daily routines of a building, not in the binder on the shelf.

What your district inherits: coaching designed by someone who has run a school, not just studied one.

Why We Exist

The sentence behind every engagement.

Our Mission

We empower educators to deliver reading instruction so exceptional that every child experiences the moment print becomes meaning. We build the click.

Our Vision

A public education system that no longer needs us: where every school runs the routines that grow readers, and reading success is determined by instruction, not circumstance.

Education does not change because of better programs. It changes because educators are empowered to implement them exceptionally well. That is our approach, and the four commitments below are how we hold ourselves to it.

Our Leadership

Hannah Goodman turns partnership strategy into Tuesday-morning practice.

Hannah Goodman, M.S. · Director of Strategic Literacy Partnerships

Every CSAS partnership has an architect, and it is Hannah. She leads the CSAS literacy consultant team, designs the strategy inside every school transformation, and drives our NYC Reads partnership work across New York City community school districts. A former K–6 reading interventionist and reading AIS teacher, she has delivered intensive structured literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading herself, and every coaching plan she approves is measured against work she has personally taught.

Strategy that never reaches a classroom is just a document. Every plan Hannah writes must survive contact with a real master schedule, a real Tuesday, and a real teacher’s next lesson. That is the standard, because that is where children learn to read.

Her reach runs from district-level strategy with superintendents to instructional coaching for teachers, and she is the coach who sharpens the coaches. See the standard for yourself: click the video and watch Hannah lead a back-to-school UFLI Foundations session for K–2 teachers, live.

What We Stand For

Four commitments. Zero exceptions.

These are not wall posters. They are the operating rules of every engagement, and you are invited to hold us to them. Open each one.

01 Research before recommendation

Before we recommend anything, we study your benchmark data, observe your classrooms, interview your leaders, and audit your systems. In your building, this means: the plan you receive was written for your schools, not copied from our last client.

02 Evidence before opinion
Every practice we coach is grounded in the science of reading and structured literacy research, from the Simple View of Reading to implementation science. In your building, this means: when a teacher asks “why this way?”, the answer is evidence, never “because we said so.”
03 Implementation before compliance
We do not measure success by attendance sheets or checklists. We measure whether practice changed in classrooms. In your building, this means: coaching cycles inside real lessons until the practice holds without us, and no product sales agenda, ever.
04 Results before recognition

We publish nothing we cannot show a superintendent in the source file, and we hold our own work to your benchmark windows. In your building, this means: you see evidence by mid-year, and the results belong to your educators, not to our marketing.

The Team

The standard every CSAS consultant meets.

We do not staff partnerships with presenters. We staff them with career educators, and every consultant who walks into your building clears the same bar.
